REPARATIONS
Our country passed the test. The majority of voting Americans was able to elect a man that freely acknowledges his black
ancestry. A man that may prove to be one of the finest that America has produced. A man that may be able to harness the collective
will of this country’s people. A MAN for our times.
Forty Acres And A Mule
Since the late 1800s, black people have been waiting for an apology from a country we built at
little or no cost to the immoral majority but at great expense to peoples of color. The land we have prospered in and the
labor that built it up was gangstered from people that had been used to sharing and giving but were offered nothing for their
sacrifice. Not an apology, not shit.
Major General William T. Sherman came up with an idea that every black person who had been a slave should get a tract of
land for their suffrage but the assasination of Abraham Lincoln put a halt to that promise.
The idea of land and a beast to plow it has become legend. The idea of reparations allowed us to create a buffer against
the hatred and contempt that the ungrateful citizenry held for the true founders of this great country of ours. Like children
waiting for Santa Klaus, we patiently waited for our present: a piece of America we could call our own.
The notion that we were owed something for our collective sacrifice festered for generations. Forty acres and a mule became
a rallying cry that was parroted throughout the militant years of the late sixties and seventies. La Revolucion would include
agrarian reforms that would force the capitalist to finally pay their debt to the lumpen.
In the sixties, a modern day Moses was born that would one day deliver that overdue debt to black people.
By my estimation, we got paid with interest on November 4, 2008. Now that we have our reparations, I pray to GOD that we
will till this fertile soil and grow us a society that will last for a thousand years.
