"J:
I love this discourse that is sadly missing from most blogs, web sites and other forms of media. You may
have noticed, talk radio, especially Black talk radio is rapidly being replaced and I miss it most because Black talk
radio is where I was able to hear intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful Black warrior-minded men like yourself. And,
I suspect, that is the very reason it is being replaced (most often) with Gospel or Country formats.
In addition,
coming up in the sixties and always on the fringe of some revolutionary 'movement' or think tank, I realized early on
that slave holders (many of them pseudo-social "scientists" [and I use that term loosely] experimented in breeding
self-hate into their enslaved residents. Media, especially movies and television, along with text books and some music
have perpetuated the indoctrination.
I am just so pleased that there are enough people, of all races, who understand
what has and is happening and who think, pray, work, teach, talk and sing about individual and collective self love and
unity. The power of collective consciousness is far more powerful than one might imagine and your voice on the side
of truth helps to keep the consciousness of vibrant, self love alive.
Thanks for caring,"

"Who is Atlas Shrugged?"
Ed, Detroit
(MY RESPONSE) You have to try to imagine Atlas, the god who carried the world on his
shoulders trying to shrug his shoulders while holding up the world.
If you want to know where the term came from originally, here goes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Shrugged
"Your analysis is insightful and sometimes painfully true. You force the reader to think outside of the box, whether they
want to or not."
Eric B. Detroit
"Thanks for the invite to your webpage. Reading your blogs were interesting and I plan to revisit. Reading your writings
on Snow Queen brought back memories. Well, thanks again your writing did quench my thirst."

"Oh my God! You are just an incorrigible, unrelenting genius! Your piece about Mr. Wiggles
and Monsieur Libido 2X has me in gales of laughter! It is absolutely marvelous!
If all brothas had your wit, sensitivity, wisdom and humanity....
What a rich and beautiful testament/homage to Jeff...
love you much," K, New York
"My beloved Warrior,
I read your latest entry and revisited---what a pleasure!---your other pieces, once again
marveling at the acuity and insightfulness expressed---you chronicler of postmodern malaise among urban black folks! lol"
"I'm always stunned by your assessment (dead-on, I might add) of current day sexual mores and proclivities. I'm particularly
intrigued by your perception/comments on the bisexual "trend" among brothas, particularly the under-40 crowd. I firmly
believe, as you do, that the apparent rise in bisexuality in brothas has a lot to do with the fact that men yearn to be the
pursuer, to conquer and "earn" women, if you will---a phenomenon that many contemporary sistas seem to overlook, either out
of desperation or a faux feminism that does not serve them well. The irony may be that men have become more adept at playing
the age-old "game" with each other that men and women used to play, with good humor and gusto, I might add. Not to mention
that the increasing feminization of the average black household appears to be creating a generation of painfully effeminate
males--strangely "feminine" in manner, bearing and outlook."
"Your insights are remarkable, as always. Love you much," Karen L, New York
"I would say, 'You are sick', but what you tell about is true. If we would all 'fess
up', the truth, indeed, is stranger than fiction."

"I am fascinated by your study of womyn..."

"Hey, This is Ruth.....
I checked out your blog and enjoyed your honesty immensely. It took me a minute but I now understand
how to google and read your pieces on Mr. BellersNeighborhood. You're a great writer. I especially liked your comments
about work spouses. I have quietly noticed these relationships --BOTH in office environments and in blue collar workplaces.
I never really gave them a name or had a way to conceptualize them in my mind before. Thanks for helping me to put a category
to my observations. I think these work spouse relationships are some of the healthiest relationships going."
"As always, thanks for sharing your insight. Best wishes."

"Dear J. Paul Ghett[y]o,
You say 'I want the same treatment other people are afforded.' Just before that you wrote 'my pimp gear and long
hair, keep me from getting in the pants of some of the well healed women that I encounter in the work place.' Obviously,
the question remains what are the 'other people' like and how do you differ from them, if at all."
'Having read the article from which I gleaned the above excerpts, this is my take on it: You are committing an error
repeated by a lot, perhaps most people. You are reconstructing the world in your own image. We all live according
to our own reconstructions. Not everybody is preoccupied with sex, likes pornography or considers it just another way
of expressing oneself. Not everybody is afraid of black men, even if he might avoid them, as he would avoid
other people whom he doesn't want to bother because of various reasons. And race has nothing to do with most
things. Culture does. Culture meaning the things you believe, the wave you behave, solve problems, etc."
"In my estimation your self description, i.e. 'I am an artist and an intellectual', has probably more to do with your
stated problems than being black has anything to do with them. :-)"
"Since you are an artist and an intellectual, let me invite you to venture into the world of Svejk [shvake]:
Like Diogenes, Švejk lingers at the margins of an unfriendly society against which he is defending his independent
existence. "Švejking" is the method for surviving "švejkárna", which is a situation or institution of systemic absurdity
requiring the employment of "švejking" for one to survive and remain untouched by it.

"I tell you you know you be hittin' the nail on the head! Keep blating them!!! Take care."

"Very interesting writing. Life seems to always provide some Draculas and Dragon Lady's just to keep things interesting.
I have found that these experiences help us to develop into the great adults that we are. We can now make a positive contrabution
to those around us. You can now really know what love is, you respect it, and never never allow it in that playah game. It
takes an encounter with a blood sucking, life sucking preditor to learn how to appreciate what good love is and bad love is.
Even if you can only gain it from afar. Congradulations you have moved to the next level. Living for life."
Janie, Detroit
"I have enjoyed all of your entries but your latest is the best one yet. I laughed out loud several times.
You are so right on the money about the way woman view you in this office including me. You do look disintrested, bored
even, but I have also seen you outside of the office and you do look like you are up to something. I sat and watched
you, I said to myself look at W_____ on the prowl. I love your descriptions of yourself."
Aiesha, Detroit
"Hey there! Pretty much right on the money. I am so looking forward to printing day. You have some
very keen observations and you're right on the money on your subjects. You have definitely done some homework.
Once again interesting reading. I had a few laughs along the way. I look forward to more. I think women
appreciate it when men seem to understand their plight, vulnerabilities, etc. You know what I'm talking about!
I look forward to the next chapter.
Keepin' it real"
